Recorded at John Lennon's Ascot Sounds Studio at Tittenhurst Park, Ascot, England, 'IMAGINE' is, without doubt, John Lennon's most SYMBOLLIC Album and for the Very FIRST TIME, we are offering the SUPER RARE, ORIGINAL UK CUSTOM APPLE TEST PRESSINGS for Lennon's ICONIC album 'IMAGINE'.
The TWO, ONE SIDED, 12" VINYL DISCS are on the REMARKABLE Custom APPLE record labels. Each Custom label is printed with the 'Apple Corps Ltd, 3 Savile Row, London W1' and 'Custom Recording' label rim, with type written recording details for Artist, catalogue number and track listing.
Record 1, Side 'A' features the tracks 'Imagine', 'Crippled Inside', 'Jealous Guy', 'It's So Hard', 'I Don't Want to be a Soldier' (MIS-SPELT IT Don't Want to be a Soldier). Record 2, Side 'B' features 'Give Me Some Truth', 'Oh My Love', 'How Do You Sleep?', 'How?', and 'Oh Yoko'. The other side of each disc is BLANK, with a Plain white label, and each is machine stamped 'LPFB 2'.
Both discs carry the FIRST ISSUE machine stamped matrixes. Record 1, Side A Matrix: YEX 865-1U. Additionally, 'PORKY' is etched in the trail out groove. Record 2, Side B matrix is: YEX 866-1U, with 'PECKO' hand etched.
The stampers are: Record 1, Side A: 1/G. Record 2, Side B: 1/G.
Both discs come in Original White Printed Custom Apple Recordings Record bags.
Both Custom Apple record labels are in truly REMARKABLE, CLEAN condition. Both sides of the playing surfaces are in very good plus condition, showing no more than a few light, inevitable, surface scratches.
I have played both discs - they sound GREAT – There are NO skips or jumps and only light background crackle through the quieter tracks.
