Description
In this auction is One Picture Sleeve and Two 45 RPM Records with different label variations.
Here are the details about the picture sleeve and records in this auction:
Picture Sleeve:
-
“MOTHER” by John Lennon b/w “WHY” by Yoko Ono
-
This Picture Sleeve is for Apple Records 1827.
-
This picture sleeve was released December 28, 1970.
-
This PICTURE SLEEVE has become a TOUGH ONE TO FIND! It has the same images on it that are on the LP cover of “Plastic Ono Band” (Apple SW 3372) by John Lennon and on the cover of its companion LP, “Plastic Ono Band” (Apple SW 3372) by Yoko Ono. John’s LP cover has him reclining against a tree with Yoko’s head in his lap, and Yoko’s LP has her reclining against the same tree with John’s head in her lap.
-
This ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE is in VG to VG- (VG Minus) CONDITION. The sleeve has moderate overall wear and the following to note: the date “13 Feb 1971” is written in red ballpoint in the center area of the A-Side (“Mother”) of the sleeve and “P.3 2nd Feb 1971” is written in blue ink on the blank inner-side of the top “flap”; the top flap has some light to moderate bends/folds and light creases along the bottom of the “flap” at the top of the sleeve and there is a small ¼ -inch tear on the flap; there is just a tiny hint of very partial ring wear on both sides of the sleeve (it’s very minimal); light disc impression; a couple of very light bends/folds at the lower corners and a light 1-inch black ballpoint ink line on the B-Side (“Why”) at the lower left corner near Yoko Ono’s printed name. There are NO SEAM SPLITS.
Record #1:

The A-side publisher is printed as “Maclen (Music) Ltd. (U.K.)”

“MONO” is boldly printed on the A-side label. (The label variations with “MONO” printed on them have a higher value than labels without “MONO”.)
-
The VINYL is STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feelable”).
-
This record was apparently produced at Capitol’s Winchester Pressing Plant. (It’s interesting to note that the pressing plant ID symbol for Capitol’s Scranton plant, a triangle “△”, was scratched out in the trail-off wax on both sides and the symbol for Capitol’s Winchester pressing plant was added.)

-
The VINYL is in NEAR MINT CONDITION.
This PICTURE SLEEVE has become a VERY DESIRABLE SLEEVE which has made it a VERY TOUGH SLEEVE TO FIND in NICE/DECENT VG+ to NM CONDITION.
The picture sleeve in this auction, though at a lower grade, STILL LOOKS QUITE NICE and can be a perfect filler copy until that VG+ or NM sleeve comes along to you at a good price.
