Description
In this auction:
· “WEDDING ALBUM” by John Ono Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon
· This is EMI Odeon Records EAS - 80702.
· It is a JAPANESE VINYL PRESSING that was issued April 5, 1977.
· I refer to this as a “box set” because, while it contains one vinyl record, it was issued with numerous inserts as additional contents of the box. These included:
1) A copy of the Gibraltar Marriage License pasted inside the box lid
2) 12” x 12” booklet entitled “The Press”
3) 1.5” x 6” strip of photos of John & Yoko
4) 3.5” x 5’ postcard
5) 12” x 36” two-sided poster featuring drawings
6) 11.5” x 11.5” photo of a slice of wedding cake
7) 24” x 36” two sided poster labeled “The Wedding”
8) The vinyl record
9) The gatefold cover for the vinyl record
· THIS JAPANESE WEDDING ALBUM BOX SET IS COMPLETE. Nothing is missing! (NOTE: A translucent mylar bag with “Bagism” printed on one side to hold the wedding cake photo was included with all previous issues of this box set but it was NOT issued for this 1977 reissue.)
· All items are also identified as CORRECT for this box set by the number “EAS - 80702” printed in the lower corner of each item. This is the catalog number for this VINYL LP issue.
· As for condition:
1) The BOX would probably be graded in WEAK VG to VG CONDITION; however, I prefer to let the images speak for the condition of the box along with the description below:
A) The BOX TOP or LID shows moderate overall wear. The lid has NO split corners when viewing the corners on the inside of the lid. On the outside, it looks like the corners have splits, but I think it is just the surface paper covering the corners that are split. The LID is quite sturdy. There is a tear on the lower right corner of the lid and bottom edge of the lid at that corner with some paper loss (see images). There is also a small tear on the upper right corner with a tiny bit of paper loss (see images). The box set was issued with the Marriage License pasted inside the lid.
B) The BOX BOTTOM also has moderate signs of wear. It has NO split corners as you can see in the image of the inside of the lid and bottom. The BOTTOM is also very sturdy. There are a few small tears in the paper on the bottom at the top left corner with no paper loss. There is a sticker at the top right corner that reads:

2) The GATEFOLD COVER of the LP is NEAR MINT.
3) The VINYL RECORD is NEAR MINT.
4) The Booklet entitled “The Press”, the two-sided POSTER labeled “The Wedding”, and the two-sided POSTER of DRAWINGS are all NEAR MINT MINUS with very light signs of handling.
5) The STRIP OF PHOTOS (of John & Yoko), the POSTCARD, and a photo of a SLICE of the WEDDING CAKE are all NEAR MINT.
It’s a GREAT JOHN LENNON JAPANESE-ISSUED BOX SET ON VINYL for someone’s collection!
