Description

In this auction:

·       “IMAGINE” by John Lennon & The Plastic Ono Band (comprised of the following depending on the song: Klaus Voorman, Alan White, Steve Brendel, George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins, Rod Linton, Ted Turner, Rod Linton, John Tout, John Barham, Jim Gordon, King Curtis, and Mike Pinder).

·       This is the EXPANDED 2-LP EDITION of this ICONIC LP which has new stereo mixes and album outtakes.

·       This DOUBLE-VINYL LP takes the listener through the entire songwriting and recording process, from the very first writing and demo sessions at John’s home studio in Tittenhurst Park through to its final co-production with Phil Spector.

·       It was released October 5, 2018.

·       This LP was issued by Universal Music Group and Apple on black vinyl.

·       It was manufactured in the E.U., and the catalog number is 0602567703334. (I had to select U.K. as the country of origin because Ebay does not list the E.U. (European Union).

·       “Imagine” was John Lennon’s second studio LP. It was released in 1971 as Apple Records SW - 3379. The LP is considered the most popular of his works, and the title track is considered to be one of Lennon’s finest songs. In 2012, “Imagine” was voted 80th on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

·       The “Imagine” LP also includes notable contributions from fellow ex-Beatle George Harrison.

·       The issue of “Imagine” in this auction features:

Double-Vinyl

New stereo remix from the original master tapes

Ultimate mixes on 2 LPs

Album Outakes

Poster

2 Postcards

·       The COVER is in NEAR MINT CONDITION and STILL in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP with STICKER listing tracks.

·       The VINYL of the “Imagine” disc with 10 songs and custom Apple labels is NEAR MINT.

·       The VINYL of the disc entitled “OUT-TAKES” is NEAR MINT.

·       The light poster-board PHOTO/LINEAR NOTES INNER SLEEVE  for the OUTAKES DISC has a 1-inch split on the bottom and a 3-inch split on one side.

·       The light poster-board DIE-CUT PHOTO/CREDITS/LYRICS  INNER SLEEVE for the DIE-CUT CUSTOM APPLE-LABEL DISC with10-tracks has a 3-inch split on one side. (This sleeve is designed like the original LP sleeve with song lyrics and photos/credits printed in a circular pattern on each side.)

·       The POSTER of John at his white piano is also included on richly textured paper. It is actually of better quality paper than the original poster that was included in the original 1971 issue. The POSTER is NEAR MINT and measures 22 inches X 33 inches.

·       The original “Imagine” LP released in 1971 was originally issued with one of two postcards. One has Yoko and John as Greek mythology characters, Yoko as a Tree Nymph and John as a Pan-like character playing pipes. The other postcard has John pulling the ears of large sow (as a spoof mimicking Paul McCartney’s holding the ewe’s ears on the “RAM” LP cover. BOTH POSTCARDS are included and are NEAR MINT.

·       NOTE: Track C7 is listed incorrectly as “I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier Mama, I Don’t Wanna Die (Take 25)” on the hype sticker, but correctly as Take 11 on the inner sleeve.

If you missed getting this double-vinyl expanded edition of “Imagine”, here is your opportunity!
