12" vinyl Nautilus Half Speed Master of "Double Fantasy" by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Geffen Records cream label w/ faint horizontal lines w/ 'Lenono Music' logo on left side of spindle hole and 'Nautilus SuperDiscs' logo to the right. Record # is NR 47. Vinyl is unplayed mint and is housed in the original Nautilus 'Super Sleeves' poly bag w/ blue print & design.  Labels are immaculate & pristine.   The cover is the ultra rare plain white cover with the large Nautilus logo. Top left hand corner reads: 'NR 47 John Lennon/Yoko Ono Double Fantasy'. Top right hand corner reads: 'Prepared for Record Bar'. At the time of this record's issue in 1982 Record Bar, the Durham, North Carolina-based  record store chain, had roughly roughly 150 stores throughout the country. I am guessing that, because of this, there were probably no more than 500 copies of this cover made (if that!). I checked Perry Cox and Joe Lindsay's first edition 'Official Guide to The Beatles Records and Memorabilia' published in August 1995 for an exact quantity of covers printed but the info wasn't there. Maybe someone out there knows this number now. The purpose of this issue was to generate interest in the commercially released Nautilus Half Speed version of Double Fantasy in Record Bar stores in 1982. This particular copy was obtained directly from a Record Bar executive who kept it stored on a shelf from 1982 until 1994 when I obtained it. I have owned it since 1994 and have stored the cover separately from the disc in a thick, heavy duty Laser Disc cover which it will ship in. The front cover is immaculate. There is no cover wear whatsoever. There is no writing or blemishes of any sort. There are no seam spilts. The top left edge has some light edge wear but top and bottom seams are intact. The cover is bowed ever so slightly from 22 years of vertical shelf storage but this is very minor and I am only mentioning this in order to give a detailed and accurate description. The back cover, which is completely white and has no copy or artwork, is unblemished except for a tiny brown spot 1/2 way along the spine edge side of the back about 1/8" in diameter. It appears be removeable but is VERY minor and I would rather the buyer attempt this. The spine is intact and all lettering is legible. I have only seen one or two of these up for auction in the past year. Perry Cox and Joe Lindsay's First Edition price guide fron '95 has the Near Mint value for this item at $200. I grade this copy conservatively as NM vinyl with a VG+++ cover and so this item is priced accordingly. You will be hard pressed to upgrade from this one (that is, if you can find one!)  Please email me with any questions.
