Description
THE BEATLES - 'HEY JUDE'
1969 UK 2nd *EXPORT* PRESSING LP
We have just been commissioned to sell a large and important private collection of UK Beatles records. The majority of listings presented this week are from that collection, with more to follow over the coming weeks. The collection contains some of the rarest UK pressed discs which are unlikely to come onto the open market again in the forseeable future.
Arguably the best stereo source for all of these tracks, this UK pressed EXPORT compilation album from 1969 is on the dark green Apple label: CPCS 106
The side 1 label misspells 'Revolution' as 'REVOLUTIONS' and has a typesetting error making 'Paperback Writer' read 'PAPER BACK WRITER'.
Matrix numbers: YEX 150-1 & YEX 151-1
Stamper codes: -/G & 1/T
Disc weight: 130g
Housed within a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with text on the spine only.
Complete with its original 'Patent No. 1,125,555' plain white inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Disc
Labels: EXCELLENT +
An attractive and unblemished pair with no more than 3 or 4 light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surfaces are totally unmarked in strong daylight and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines. Close examination directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless faint wispy hairlines and nothing more. Both sides of this well cared-for copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT +
Played only a handful of times on good equipment, this copy plays cleanly and clearly with outstanding fidelity from everyone of these true stereo tracks - 'Rain' is most definitely a highlight. The only audible distraction I detected during my single careful play-check was a faint 'swish' in-between tracks on side 1, which I take to be a pressing defect and not one of wear.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A clean, solid and glossy example which displays some light storagewear but no major faults. The front panel retains its high-gloss finish with just a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle towards the opening edge. There is a little bruising to the corners but no significant wear to either opening edge. The rear panel bears a few light laminate wrinkles towards the upper edge but again has no significant signs of wear. Both seams and the fully worded spine are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.
Cover
EXCELLENT
Clean & white with some light handling wrinkles but no writing, seam splits or tears.
**PLEASE NOTE: This item is located in and will be shipped from AUSTRIA. 1st class international postage to UK addresses will be 6.50 GBP**
