UK 1968 1st PRESS *MISPRESSING* 45
This copy was part of an tiny batch of copies pressed with blank 'A' side labels.
The 'B' side label of 'Revolution' is the regular 1st press example with the 'Sold in UK..' text.
Both sides play the dedicated MONO mixes.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 21185-1 & 7XCE 21186-1
Stamper numbers: 11/RGR & 11/RDR
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
Both are clean & bright with the title 'Hey Jude' handwritten on the 'A' side label. The line running from the centre to the edge on the left side is a slight crease in the paper made during manufacture and is not a scratch.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both sides are clean and bright with just some light surface marks and hairlines directly beneath halogen light but no major marks or scratches. Both lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping
Audio: VERY GOOD +
Despite moderate play, both sides play without any groovewear or any significant deterioration to the sound. In fact, apart form some minor background on the 'Hey Jude' introduction, there is little to fault. The mono mix of 'Revolution ' is truely magnificent.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
