Description

THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'
This EXCELLENT UK STEREO pressing dates from late 1966 and is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3071

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK....' text and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.

The '*' is positioned in front of track 4 on label 1, on 1965 pressings it comes after.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.

Matrix numbers: YEX 168-1 & YEX 169-1

Stamper codes: 2/OL & 2/OL

Vinyl weight: 143g

Housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with an outline 'stereo' front indicator.

This copy was exported for sale to the U.S.A. and retains its original store shrinkwrapping and price tag.

Complete with its original black & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT +

A clean & undamaged pair with just a small collection of light spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Extremely clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces where the only mark visible in strong daylight is a light 4mm mark on the last track on side 1. Both sides are otherwise free from any scuff or scratches and even close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving desk lamp reveal little more than some harmless wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal. Both sides of this well looked-after copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +

This copy has received a moderate amount of careful play but is without any major deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults. My single careful play-check detected a touch of light playwear on the tracks on side 1. The aforementioned mark produced one or two very faint 'pops' on 'Ticket To Ride' but you would easily pass unnoticed. Side 2 plays better with the only noticeable distraction being a little low-level background on 'Yesterday'.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

Preserved within its original shrinkwrapping from purchase, this fine example has survived in exceptional shape. The front panel has moderate age-toning which is slightly stronger than that shown in the front cover listing image, but it is otherwise clean & unblemished.

All corners are in excellent sharp and both opening edges are undamaged & unworn. Being fully protected by the shrink, all aspects of the rear panel are perfectly clean & white and 'as new'. There is a tear to the shrinkwrapping on the front panel but it is otherwise fully intact with no missing pieces.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +

Clean & uncreased with just the inevitable light disc impression but no writing, seam splits or tears.
