SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL, RARE TITLE, NEAR MINT EXAMPLE
In 1969, for the FIRST TIME since 1963, PARLOPHONE/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a ONE BOX EMI logo. This one box logo is printed to the bottom portion of the record label on both sides.
The album was issued only as a SMALL BATCH and the 12" **STEREO** VINYL LP features ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, the encircled ‘P’ date 1965, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. Please note that the Vinyl weight is of the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1965 release, and, in addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as the 1965 version.
Side 1 Matrix is: YEX 168-1 and side 2: YEX 169-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3/PA and Side 2: 3/PT.
The embossed ‘KT’ tax code is visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.
The Vinyl LP comes in its ORIGINAL Printed EMI Advertising Inner Bag.
….And is housed in its ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, Three Flip back, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE Picture Sleeve.
Both sides of the record labels are in FINE near mint condition, showing nothing more than a few light spider trails. Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STUNNING near mint condition - GLISTENING, NEW LOOKING Vinyl surfaces, which are hard to fault. The Original Printed inner bag is in IMMACULATE condition, no tearing or handwriting – very nicely PRESERVED. The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE near mint condition, with the exception of the previous owner’s name, neatly handwritten in ink to the top portion on the reverse of the sleeve, just below the foldover flap.
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks, with NO faults.
A STUNNING example of this BRIEF EMI/PARLOPHONE Release. RARELY seen title in this ONE EMI BOX label format!
