The Beatles – Greatest Hits – Parlophone LP PMCS 306 (Sweden)
Please note that I’ve listed two copies of this album this week; this is not a duplicate listing. Of the two, this is the second best copy!
This is a fine copy of the very rare Swedish Greatest Hits album by The Beatles – stamped matrix numbers XSTX 115 1 and XSTX 116 1, respectively.
Vinyl condition: Visually, this copy would be in the VG range or thereabouts. There are hairlines and some small scratches and scuffs. The playing roughly matches the visuals; there is some noise in-between tracks and there are clicks here and there, but absolutely no big scratches and certainly no skipping. Beautifully mastered, as were most of the Swedish Beatles albums in the 1960s, the record still plays very nicely with the music clearly in command. Please consult the snippets below for confirmation. I’ve added three or four seconds before each song begins, so you can hear how the album plays. The fifth track on the B-side, ‘Slow Down’, has the only major problem, a couple of loud clicks during the guitar solo (please listen to the clips below).
Sleeve condition: Not perfect, but not too bad either. The back of the cover has a name in ballpoint but there are no tears. There are seam splits, however, and there is a general feeling of wear: yellowing and creases (particularly visible on the back of the cover, the front is not bad at all). Also, the lamination is a little “loose” (if that’s the word) in parts. The sleeve is of a rather flimsy paper quality to begin with – this is how they all came – but all in all, it’s still pretty decent (please see scans).
Label condition: Spindle marks and wear round the centre hole on both sides, but no writing or stains (please see scans).

Shipping from Sweden is quite expensive – though the rest of the world is surely catching up – not least due to the fact that the weight increments are few and far apart, but it’s usually swift and safe.
