Description
The Beatles Yesterday And Today 1966 Capitol Mono Scranton T2553 First State Butchers Cover Signed by Robert Whitaker on cover ( The person this came off met Robert Whitaker and was asked for a fee of £500 to sign the cover which he duly paid ! ) Robert Whitaker 13/11/39 - 20/09/11 Photographer. The Butchers cover photo taken in Chelsea London on 25th March 1966. This is a textured Scranton cover ( No 3 by RIAA ) that has never been subject to a paste over ie First State Butchers. The most infamous of all Beatles Album Covers and now a blue chip collectible I have seen a few Butchers Covers mostly 2nd state Peels but never any signed by the Photographer No vinyl with this cover but it would n`t be difficult to obtain from a less valuable paste over. A really cool Beatles LP to frame for the wall particularly Signed by the Photographer whose idea it was. John Lennon pushed for its release in 1966 before the recall There is much information about the Butchers Covers in the excellent Spizer book so I won`t go into too much detail. There can`t be many Signed like this as many would have bulked at the £500 fee ! Posting Immediate Will Post Worldwide via Courier Mailbox who use UPS
