Description
Mega rare Fourth Proof issue of BEATLES SGT PEPPER'S on UK black-and-yellow Parlophone label (PMC 7027).
First mono pressing (7027.MR1A). Original issue as evidenced by "The Gramophone Co Ltd" rim print. Cover has RARE "fourth proof" designation.
Matrix stampings are as follows: XEX 637-1 / XEX 638-1. 2nd and 4th mothers. Stampers are RLA / RPG.
Label: EX-. (many light spindle markings).
Vinyl: EX-. Has a few very light surface marks. Nothing significant that would impact play.
Insert: VG+. Has some light creasing.
Cover: VG+. This Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve retains its original laminated shine! No seam splits. The spine has been professionally repaired with archival glue to correct a split. During this process, the spine text was lost. Mild ringwear evident. Slight creasing near corners of sleeve. Corners have some shelfwear.
