The Beatles "Yesterday and Today" butcher cover is the holy grail of Beatles collectibles, and this is a particularly nice second state copy (the trunk cover is pasted over the original butcher cover). As you probably know, many consider a 2nd state cover to be more valuable than a 3rd state (trunk cover removed to reveal the original cover) because the underlying picture is totally undamaged as long as no attempt has been made to remove the top one. Companies that professionally remove the top cover and guarantee the results are easily found online, so if you want either a great 2nd or 3rd state cover, this is the one you are looking for!
There are very few flaws in this rare piece, and those flaws are very minor. There is a slight amount of wear on the front cover at the top of George's head, which, of course, does not affect the quality of the butcher cover underneath.. The back cover shows a small amount of wear due to the record being stored in the jacket. The only split in the seams is shown in the last picture. As you can see, it is a very small spot at the edge of the bottom seam. This small spot is the biggest flaw in the whole cover! The spine and lettering on it are fine. All in all, this is an outstanding second-state cover!
