SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL, RARE TITLE, IMMACULATE EXAMPLE
In 1969, for the FIRST TIME since 1963, PARLOPHONE/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a ONE BOX EMI logo. This one box logo is printed to the bottom portion of the record label on both sides.
The album was issued as a SMALL BATCH only with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1964, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. (Please note that the Vinyl weight is the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1964 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as for the original 1964 version.
Both record labels are mint IMMACULATE - they look NEW.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STUNNING mint condition - GLISTENING, NEW LOOKING Vinyl surfaces - hard to fault!
Side 1 Matrix is: YEX 142-1 and side 2: YEX 143-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1/GMM and Side 2: 1/GMM.
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks.
The Vinyl LP comes in a white poly lined inner record bag which is in UNDAMAGED near mint condition, NO seam splits or tearing.
….And is housed in its ORIGINAL, LAMINATED, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD Picture Sleeve with THREE fold over flip backs to the reverse, with the same artwork and style as the original 1964 release.
The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition, a BRIGHT, FIRM, CLEAN sleeve, with a couple of mild rub marks to the top and bottom edges of the sleeve, and mild corner bumps to the bottom two corners. The inner Gatefold is in FINE, UNDAMAGED condition, and both inner flip backs are UNDAMAGED. The reverse of the sleeve is FIRM, and a small area to the bottom right hand of the sleeve where the laminate has lifted..
