Description
THE BEATLES - 'ABBEY ROAD'
1969 UK *VARIANT* PRESSING LP
This rarely seen pressing variant is on the standard dark green Apple label: PCS 7088
The side 2 label omits the 'Her Majesty' song title.
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with the Apple logo aligned beneath the rear track-listing.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patent No. 1,125,555' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 749 A-3U & YEX 750-1
Comparing side 1 visually with a regular '-2' disc, the 'A-3U' copy appears to be less banded but there is little else to tell them apart. Audibly, I would definately state that there is a subtle difference in sound - however it is difficult for me here to accurately describe the finer points.

Numerous spindle trails to each centre hole but no other significant signs of wear.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both surfaces are clean & glossy but strong daylight reveals some surface marks consistent with frequent handling & play. Inspection beneath halogen light shows up more wispy hairlines but no major marks or blemishes.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has received a frequently amount of play but apart from an occasional light click & some intermittent light background, there are no major faults to either side.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A very clean & glossy example which displays light handling & storagewear but no major faults throughout. All corners are sharp & square and with no significant wear to either opening edge. Both seams and the spine are smooth, unstressed and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD
Clean & flat but with a seam split to one side and the discs catalogue number written on one upper corner.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
