Description
THE BEATLES - ' A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
1969 UK STEREO PRESSING LP
In October 1969 EMI introduced thier new '1-EMI-box' design label to replace the yellow & black design which had been employed since April 1963. These new pressings utilized the same matrices with the original 'tube-cut' mixes as the 1st pressings, and are arguably their equal in sound quality.
This outstanding copy dates from late 1969 and is on that '1-EMI-box' Parlophone label: PCS 3058
Both labels rim texts begin: 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' with 'Made In Gt. Britain' around the bottom.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover without a front stereo indicator but with its original shop shrinkwrapping.
Complete with its original red & white EMI inner-sleeve depicting The Beatles, Pink Floyd & others.
Matrix numbers: YEX 126-1 & YEX 127-1 (the same as the 1964 1st pressing)
Stamper codes: 3,5/HT & 1,3/PG
Vinyl weight: 145g
CONDITION
Disc
Labels: EXCELLENT +
A clean & bright set with a small collection of faint spindle marks around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely clean & deep-gloss surfaces which bear just a few harmless surface marks in strong daylight, but nothing I would call a scratch. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals only some wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal. Pressed on thick quality vinyl, both sides of which lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: NEAR MINT
Spectacular and high-quality stereo sound throughout this barely played copy which will not disappoint.
Cover
EXCELLENT +
Apart from some wear to the exposed lower right edge, this is in the same condition as when it left the shops 41 years ago.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Clean & unworn with a faint disc impression but no major faults.
**PLEASE NOTE: This item is located and will be shipped from AUSTRIA. 1st class international postage to UK addresses will be 6.50 GBP**
