Beatles 45’s and Picture Sleeves 1965 Ticket to Ride, One East, One West Coast Sleeves!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
East Coast Set:
Picture Sleeve: VG. Straight-cut sleeve. Presents very well, but all seams have splits a few inches long.
A Company Capitol sleeve will be provided to protect your Picture Sleeve sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: EX/VG+. VERY strong 45, well-cared for! Side 1 looks very close to unplayed, with just a few extremely light angel hairs. Side 2 has very light lines only, but a few more than on Side 1. FULL GLOSS.
Labels: NM/NM. Labels look 1965 freshly-printed. Provided by the Scranton plant.
Plates: T6/P5. MUCH scarcer Decca consignment pressing. Matrices are machine-stamped scripted font. You just don’t find these.
West Coast Set:
Picture Sleeve: VG. Has more general wear than the East Coast sleeve, however, none of the seams are split. Has the west coast thumb tab.
A Company Capitol sleeve will be provided to protect your Picture Sleeve sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: EX/VG+. This one’s a little tough to grade. Side 1 is almost NM. Side 2 has one small scuff which is plainly visible, but non-feelable. The real shame is that there is a very tiny crack on the lip, which causes a tick for about four rotations.
Labels: EX/EX. Very nice west coast labels.
Plates: F5/F5. Interesting consignment pressing has both the Los Angeles machine-stamped asterisk, as well as RCA’s hand-etched letters in the dead wax! Safe to say that Los Angeles must have provided their pressing plates to RCA, along with their labels.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
