This Beatles original was released on October 5, 1962. It was their debut disc entering the TOP 50 chart, published by RECORD RETAILER at # 49 on October 11, 1962 and remained there for 18 weeks, hitting  its peak of # 17 twice, first on December 27, 1962, while ELVIS PRESLEY held the top spot  with "RETURN TO SENDER", and then again on January 10, 1963.
After initially being turned down by EMI in December of 1961, then by DECCA a few months later, Brian Epstein was finally able to secure the FAB4 a record deal with EMI's PARLOPHONE label, which was run  by none other than Producer GEORGE MARTIN. The man responsible for setting up the meeting between Epstein and Martin was Sid Colman, the General Manager of ARDMORE & BEECHWOOD LTD., a British  joint stock company set up by CAPITOL Records' music publishing subsidiary, BEECHWOOD MUSIC CORPORATION, for the purpose of handling publishing in the UK.
You will note that ARDMORE & BEECHWOOD LTD. appears on the label on these original 1962 pressings. Later versions, such as the 2012 Anniversary edition DO NOT have this publisher listed.

REMINDER TO ALL PERSPECTIVE BUYERS:  Pricing is based upon a number of factors such as condition, edition, quantities produced and existing price guides. Some price guides in today's market have not been updated for over 13 years, therefore they are not to be taken literally since the market has changed drastically in that time, especially with respect to BEATLES VINYL, most of which has become much more highly sought after. The rarest BEATLES VINYL has become more difficult to locate in prime condition since it appears that collectors of original pressings from the mid 1960s, seem to be holding on to their collections more so today than ever before. We appreciate your viewing our collectibles at this time and we welcome any and all reasonable offers. Please keep watching as we continue to post more BEATLES RARE VINYLS in the future. If you have any questions at all, please ask.Thank you for your attention and we look forward to hearing from you.
NOTE:  Although HANDLING TIME is sometimes listed as 5 DAYS, we would normally make every effort to ship in 3 DAYS or LESS.
Also, to all potential buyers, there appears to be a number of SCAMMERS out there who have recently tried various illegal tactics to try and gain vital seller information. As a policy, we do NOT respond to any potential buyer who wishes for us to either CALL them or TEXT them. Please be aware that any attempt to do so will be ignored and reported directly to Ebay. Thank you!
