Beatles 45 Eleanor Rigby 1968 "Subsidiary of…" Small Capitol Logo, GORGEOUS NM!

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

Collectors are well aware that the new Capitol logo design for 1968’s 45’s featured a much smaller Capitol logo to the left of the playhole, which barely fit inside the orange portion of the swirl.  It also added the bottom perimeter text, “A Subsidiary of Capitol Industries,” which pushed the small white Capitol logo in that text from the 6 O’clock position to the 5 O’clock position on these labels.

There were also anti-slip serrations included around the labels’ edges, which required that labels be cut smaller in size, in order to fit inside the serrations.  Apple Records continued the format when they took over the catalogue.

Only in the record shops for just a short time, these new Capitol labels were discontinued for Beatles singles when the Apple label was introduced to the public.  It’s extremely difficult to complete this run, especially if you’re only interested in NM records.

If that’s the case, don’t let this one slip past you.

Vinyl: NM/NM.  I’m not kidding, this copy is one label serration under store-stock brand new condition.  99% full original gloss.

Plates: P28/P28.  Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.

Labels: NM/NM.  Side 1 label has a manufacturer’s defect of a tic of orange swirl that didn’t take.  See photo.  It’s not a scratch, there’s full gloss over it.  Side 2 label looks beautiful.

Sleeve: NM.  STUNNER original sleeve.  I had to do a double-take to make certain that this sleeve is not laser-printed.

*If you have a jeweler’s glass like I do, you can see that the ink is not dot-matrixed.

*The quality of the paper is textured exactly like the Capitol sleeves of the late 60’s.  Ink jet sleeves have smooth texture, like printer paper.  I have one.  See Compere photos.

*You can clearly see some ink bleed on the front sleeve to the left bottom.  That doesn’t occur with precision laser printing.

*Sleeve has ZERO yellowing, ZERO wrinkles, ZERO tears, and ZERO finger divots.

NO SPLIT SEAMS.

**You’re not going to find a copy this resplendent for your collection.  This is time-capsule quality.**

**Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
