Beatles 45 E.P. Four By The Beatles UNCONFIRMED LABEL 1964
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
In the course of researching and writing a two-volume set of books on rare Beatles labels of American pressings, I have come across several labels that are so scarcely seen that they are either not yet mentioned in any of the existing books, or they are thought not to exist.
Although there is a photo in Bruce Spizer’s books, no discussion has come from this label variation with the misprint on the Side 2 label. The ASCAP designation after the song, “This Boy” is printed as “ASCP.” My keeper copy, which is NM, also has this error, so check your copy. This could be a new variation, or there may be quite a few out there. My Los Angeles copy has the correct “ASCAP” designation.
Either way, this is still the rarest of the 3 Beatles E.P.’s from 1964, and here’s your chance to get a very nice one!
Cardboard Cover: Very nice VG+. Structurally solid, there are NO SPLITS. However, the top and bottom seams have some slick crackling. Side seam is EX, with hardly any damage at all. Collectors know that these E.P. covers were constructed with cardboard that seems to have been recycled a few times since World War 2. They split if you sneeze hard enough.
This cover is startlingly still intact.
Sleeve: A Capitol company sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: Respectable VG. As opposed to Disgraceful VG, which some sellers should have rated as poor.
Labels: VG+/ VG+. More age than wear, but still very good-looking labels. The word, “Records” is missing under the Capitol logo, making these labels the Scranton variation.
Plates: G4/ F3. Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside make this a Scranton pressing.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
