READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles 2-LP 1976 Rock and Roll Music with SCARCE Poster, NM!

I first became aware of this poster in the early 80’s, when I was working at a Sound Odyssey record store.  We had ordered a box of these from the Scranton plant’s warehouse after it had gone offline.  Never having seen a poster in any copy before, I opened a few others, but none that I’d opened had one.  So I took this one!  There may well have been others.  My best guess is that since this poster is clearly for advertising in-store sales, it’s probable that the factory must have inserted the remaining posters into album covers until they’d exhausted the supply, rather than throwing them away.

Since that period of time, I’ve only ever seen maybe three or four other copies with the poster.

I recently found my keeper, so a serious collector should own this one.

Vinyl--- NM/ NM.  NM/ NM.  All four sides look very close to being unplayed.  I did play it a handful of times when I got it, but it hasn’t been played in a few centuries now.

Plates--- F9/ F9.  G17/ G16.  Disc 1&4 is a Capitol pressing from Winchester.  Side 2&3 is a consignment pressing, probably Columbia.

Cover--- EX.  Most of the covers you see have dulled foil and at least moderate ringwear.  Not this cover.  A few light marks on the front cover, slight record outdent because I stored this with the records outside the cover and NO SPLITS.

Poster--- VG+.  A modest amount of wrinkles and finger divots, still presents extremely well.  NO SPLITS.

Breathe Holes--- N/A.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  NM/ NM.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeves--- Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present and in EX condition.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
