READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles 1969 LP Rubber Soul RAREST Apple U.S. Military Only Straight Transfer, EX!
Yes, that was a mouthful to fit into less than 80 characters!
For decades now, I’ve been working to verify whether this was an entire run. But judging by the scarcity of these U.S. Military pressings, I’ve so far concluded that the answer is no. I’ve only confirmed two titles in the run, which are Help! and Rubber Soul.
**The labels are straight transfers from the black and green target Capitol “Subsidiary of…” labels. The only difference in each case is that the Side 2 labels had moved the album titles to the upper left shoulder of the sliced Apple, and “The Beatles” to the upper right.
**In both cases, the album covers are promotional. In this case, there is a sticker on the back, stating that this album is “For Sale to U.S. Military Only.” The “Help!” album has an indented “For U.S. Export Only” stamp.
**Both titles were pressed by the Jacksonville plant.
**No RIAA number on the cover, which is odd for Apple pressings.

If other copies of other titles exist, I’ve never seen them.
These copies are extremely rare. Since the 1970’s, this is the second copy of Rubber Soul that I’ve found, so I can spare one.
Vinyl--- NM/EX. Side 1 looks nearly unplayed. Side 2 has 2 or 3 very light lines in a sea of glass.
Plates--- W8/W14. Hand-etched letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Cover--- VG+. Cover is still in shrink, which is crucial, because that’s where the military sticker is. Bottom seam has some shelfwear, not too bad. Back cover has moderate foxing down the mouth, where the shrink was opened. Other sparse spots of foxing has occurred since 1969.
Price sticker affixed on front cover reads, “Navy U.S. Records Co. 065.”
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover. The first one is on Paul’s left cheekbone. The other is due south, just below Ringo.
Labels--- EX/EX. One very light spindle mark per side. Otherwise, labels appear brand new.

Apple Inner Sleeve--- EX. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present. Sleeve has yellowed a little. Lies flat, really minimal finger divots and record outdent. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: None.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
