!!!AN ALL ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS STEREO!!!
This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!
Catalogue Number: PCS 7607/8
The Vinyl: GORGEOUSLY shiny vinyl. There are just a couple of faint hairline marks BUT after playing her all the way through I didn't find any problem at all! GREAT!! NOTHING to affect play. There's only a small degree of background noise which will reduce following a clean as it's just dust.Nice and quiet between tracks and the run-in is also rather quiet..a joy to listen to, which would only improve with a professional clean....Really nice playback!
The labels: All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple. Only a few spindle marks.
"Mfd in the U.K." and "EMI recording" to each of the labels
"SOLD IN U.K...." text to each of the four labels...showing it IS a first press!
WITHOUT writing or signs of excessive play.

There's just the one obvious needle mark to the label on side 3...Other than that GORGEOUS!

The Cover: NUMBERED: 0401052 It is TOP loading and INCREDIBLY CLEAN, SUPERB shine to it. Garrod and Lofthouse flipback without tears, rips or writing!!
The spine is still strong and clear...Has the listing of BOTH Mono and Stereo with their catalogue numbers.
The back of the sleeve has "Stereo" in the top right corner...ORIGINAL!
There are a couple of areas of spidering to the back of the sleeve, but nothing to worry about at all.
Good strong Garrod & Lofthouse flip back.
Just simply FANTASTIC
Inners: Original BLACK inners. They are both pretty well looked after and have little sign of ageing...However one has small splits to the bottom and to the side, as well as just the one tiny tear to the central hole on each...but only of around 1cm.
AGAIN....THEY ARE ORIGINAL.
Pictures: The four pictures are EXCELLENT. They DON'T even have any pin-holes...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall. Tiny corner fold to George, Paul and Ringo and it appears the print wasn't great for John and George...but only a slight factory defect-nothing to worry about!
Poster: Full size and with lyrics to the back. VG+++ condition. No feathering to the corners...they're still lovely and sharp. Only the smallest of holes to the central fold, there are a couple of pin holes, but JUST THE ONE PIN-HOLE to each of the four corners.
