Beatles 1968 US First Pressing in SHRINK White Album Apple Vinyl 2 LP

Original 1968 first pressing US Apple White Album, cover numbered A1948439 and still in the shrink. Apple labels with Capitol logo and TWO (not all) of the early label printing errors.

Page 122 of the 2003 Spizer Apple reference book defines first run covers (ID’d as APP 101.SC1) as having a number of 2,250,00 or lower, and this one is well within that range. Not as low as my other copy in shrink that I recently sold on here - only mention that so nobody thinks I’m sitting here in TX mass producing these TX ;-)

COVER:

GORGEOUS - white, clean and undamaged. No seam splits, no writing and the corners are square. A tiny “ding” or crease on the front on both bottom corners, just as likely to have occurred in the assembly at the print shop as done by the original owmer.

As shown in the pics, there’s a small white $6.77 price sticker from “topps.”

You have to look closely to even notice it - in the FOURTH pic you can see what looks like a thin, faint stain. It looks to me to be age-related, possibly a yellowing of a small of the glue underneath.

There are a few tears/openings in the shrink, but it’s done its job in protecting and preserving the cover.

They’re all shown in the pics, so please look for:

Front:

- A split in the shrink covering half of the top left area and curves downward to about one-third the height of the cover.

- A roughly 1 1/2 inch split at the bottom right corner.

- A split on the left with two openings exposing the cover but with no resulting wear or damage - no stains or wear, the white cover underneath still has its gloss.

- The bottom left split/opening was probably the cause of the bottom right split on the front mentioned above.

Please look closely at all the pictures as they are part of the item description.

VINYL:

Two nice pieces of vinyl, both still have their luster. A few handling/paper scuffs and small, light hairline surface scratches.

They’re close to VG++, but I grade conservatively and don’t want to over-promise, so I'm grading them as a solid VG+.

As shown in the pics, the lacquer numbers are:

LP1 - Side 1 J46 #3, Side 2 J46” #3

LP2 - Side 1 J47’’ #3, Side 2 J44 ’’

LABELS:

Beautiful first pressing dark green Apple labels with the Capitol logo. No wear, no writing, no spindle marks.

TWO label errors are present (plus “Rocky Racoon” with one “c”):

- “Obladi Oblada” (no dashes)

- “Bungalow Bill” (no “Continuing Story”)

The other label errors that were only on the VERY earliest pressings are NOT on this copy:

- “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road” (w/no question mark)

- “Revolution No. 1” (instead of “Revolution 1”)

- “Revolution No. 9” (instead of “Revolution 9”)

- “Goodnight” (one word instead of “Good Night”)

PICTURES:

All four pictures are the first printing, not on super-heavy stock, but heavier than later pressings would include. “Printed in USA” at the bottom (no Apple copyright info). Includes the separator sheet (thin green paper stock). All are in beautiful condition, with no wear, writing, wrinkles or creases.

POSTER:

First printing with “© Apple Records” at the bottom. No tears or creases, only barely handled. And just to nitpick a little, the folds are very (VERY) slightly off.
