'Beat Happening' is a re-sequenced, two-disc version of the 1996 self-titled release: sides A and B are the Beat Happening album (the tracklisting is that of the Rough Trade version, which included the songs from the first 7") while sides C and D compile additional recordings from the era (originally released on the Beat Happening and Three Tea Breakfast cassettes, and the Let's Together, Let's Kiss and Let's Sea compilation cassettes, combined with a few recordings unreleased at the time).

Copies of this box set bought from K Records include a bonus enhanced live CDEP in card sleeve, previously released as part of the Crashing Through box set.
