Battered Ornaments - Mantle Piece
Original UK issue from 1969
Harvest SHVL 758
This is an incredibly rare factory sample of this very rare LP by the Battered Ornaments who at this stage were fronted by Chris Spedding, after Pete Brown had been kicked out of the band.

Condition is EX/M (sleeve/record)

Matrix numbers: SHVL 758 A-2 / SHVL 758 B-2
Outer sleeve front is in excellent condition with only slight wear and minor creasing and surface scratches. Upper left corner only very slightly dented (see detail picture).
Outer sleeve back is in excellent condition with only slight wear in the form of markings from the rim of the record. Same slight dent as on front of sleeve can be seen on back (see detail picture).
Foldout is in excellent condition although some ink rub-off can be seen on left-hand side (see detail picture).
Overall impression of the outer sleeve is excellent. The cover is clean, smells nicely and does not give an aged impression. Spine is also in very good condition with only one minor crease half the way form the edges.
Record is in mint condition. The record has most probably never been played. Vinyl is glossy and record is perfectly flat with no warps. There are some surface marks but these are not due to playing - instead it is due to insignificant wear against the inner sleeve.
Labels on both sides are in excellent condition. They are clean and without scruff marks or discolouring. On the label of the A-side, there is a sticker labeled "FACTORY SAMPLE. NOT FOR RESALE" (see picture).
White inner sleeve: Original white paper bag is in excellent condition although it has been folded in one corner..
Overall, a once in a lifetime chance. Search in the ”completed listings” section here on eBay and you will see that this record has never been offered as a factory sample before – never mind in this outstanding condition. I expect some quite high bids on this one...!
