This is a listing of the Mondo records Special Limited edition of the expanded score of the classic 1989 Batman movie starring Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the villainous Joker.
Like all Mondo records the LPs are housed in a beautiful gatefold cover depicting movie art, in this case of the cover depicts the Batwing taking flight in Gotham City evoking Batman's own insignia and the inside of the gatefold depicts Nicholson's Joker dancing in his lair surrounded by cut out pictures of his intended victim and paramour Vicki Vale as seen in the movie in the "so much to do, so little time!" scene.
This listing is of the completely sold out 2 LP version of the soundtrack by Mondo and has the entirety of the film's legendary score as composed by Danny Elfman, as opposed to the single LP editions which only have a limited compilation of Elfman's score.
This 2 LP limited edition is printed on two very striking multicolored LPs, each one visually evoking the key colours of the movie's hero and villain. With the first LP being a swirl in Batman's black and yellow colours and the 2nd LP being a swirl of the Joker's purple and green colours.
Included inside is also a paper insert designed to mimic a Gotham city newspaper which on one side includes news stories and headlines from the movie and on the other includes a behind the scenes look at Elfman's legendary work on the movie's score.
This is an extremely hard to get hold of set which sold out in seconds on Mondo's website and is increasingly rare and difficult to get hold of.
This set is in very good condition and has only been played a few times, with no scratches or flaws.
