Description
A UK 12" on the Greensleeves label, issued in 1980 catalogue number GRED 40 on red vinyl. On the B side Barrington is joined by General Echo to tell the terrible story of the Eventide fire in which 153 elderly patients lost their lives in what many people feel was a politically motivated act. Read about it here http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Eventide-fire-remembered_8844433 Both tracks were produced by Henry " Junjo " Lawes with backing by The Roots Radics, the tracks were recorded at Channel One and mixed at King Tubbys by Scientist. The Barrington track was titled River Jordan when it appeared on an LP. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ with no marks or scuffs, both labels are clean and mark free. The record comes in a Greensleeves cartoon sleeve. The A side is an extended mix with the vocal going into the dub. The B side is Barrington's vocal followed by Echo's DJing. The record does play with background/underlying crackles, probably due to the coloured vinyl, ( not anything that I have done) ....But it is a loud pressing so the crackles do not distract.
