"Journal Violone"
Opus One ?Records number 2
Unaccompanied free improvisation; double bass
This, from the sleeve notes: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recorded in London during November of 1968. The recording was made in the Parish Church of St. James' Norlands. Out thanks to Reverend Hill, whose generous cooperation made the recording possible, and to engineer Bob Woolford, whose equipment took the sounds out of the church onto tape. The music itself was played and recorded "straight". No amplification or electronic devices were used. Editing of the basic material consisted only of eliminating certain portions in order to bring the music to a proper length of two sides of a disc, and occasional repositioning of some of it in order to arrive at a better weight. What you hear, therefore, is just the way it happened in the church. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cover image shows only slight general wear, also a small price sticker, upper right; also please NOTE: top seam split for its entire length, and a three-inch seam split, bottom right (see listing photos for details).
Record shows some light to moderate sleeve scuffing and light scratches that do not significantly affect play on our system.
Bid with confidence. We have been buying and selling records, with a focus on the out of the ordinary, since 1987.
