Description
You are invited to bid on what I believe to be a rare and sought after LP from Lester Sterlin called Bangarang.
I understand that it's rare because, according to the sleeve notes, Bangarang was considered to be one of the first reggae records ever made.
It is is performed by Lester Sterlin, and sung by Stranger Cole.
I have had this LP in my collection for around 30 years, but I've only just played it!
It plays well and is very listenable.
It says that it's stereo on the sleeve, but mono on the label.
I think this is a typo as I have seen another copy with exactly the same anomaly.
The sleeve is showing some signs of wear as you can see from the photos, but is not too bad considering it's around 40 years old.
The tracks on the album are as follows:
Side one:
Bangarang
Reggae in the wind
Spoogy
1000000 tons of TNT
Man at the door
Man about town
Side two:
Reggae on Broadway
Doctor Satan
Danger man
Bright as a rose
Regina
Man at work.
It's on the Pama label and dates from around 1968, or thereabouts.
And the young lady in the fetching knitted outfit?
Her name is Eunice Cook, and she was Miss Unity records.
I will post Worldwide.
Thanks for looking.
