Please Note: S&H for LPs is NOT $4. We must charge $6 in order to cover the costs of custom mailers, packing supplies, postage, etc. This does not even take into account he extra time we spend making all outgoing packages as safe and secure as possible. Please Do NOT Bid on this auction if you are not willing to pay full S&H costs.

The US Postal service has recently increased the domestic postal rates. I am NOT raising my S&H at this time. It is costing more to ship items and the mailers I use are also more expensive with the postal rate increase and higher gas prices incurred by the various shipping companies. The S&H rate is as low as it is going to be so please do not ask for a cheaper rate.

There are several hundred LPs and other vinyl sitting around in all genres including Rock, Rap, Soul/R&B, punk/Alternative, and oddball items at any given time. There are new listings every week but if you would like to see a list of items that will be listed on ebay in the coming weeks email for that info.

1) If you are bidding/buying multiple items Please do NOT use Ebay Instant Pay/Checkout. We will contact you via Email with the total for all items at once.

2) PAYPAL INSTRUCTIONS: Please contact us for the PayPal address BEFORE paying, it is not the same as the ebay email.

3) Please send payment so it gets to me by the 5th day following the end of the auction.

5) Please do not bid unless you plan on following through with the transaction. I will file Non Paying Bidder Reports and leave NEGATIVE feedback on you if you do not pay for you items. Your bid is a legally binding contract, so if you bid you are required to honor that bid. Only bid as much as you are willing to pay, do not submit outrageously high bids that you cannot honor. I do not have time to chase you around so if you can't make sure you do things in a timely matter please save both of us the trouble and do not bid.

7) We post POSITIVE Feedback as soon as possible, but sometimes it may take me a few days. We always do get it done and hope you do the same as soon as you receive your items. If there is any problem with the item or you think it was not as described please email before flying off the handle, because we try to be fair and detailed in the listing descriptions so you will know what you are getting before you bid. We guarantee anything that is NOT sold AS IS, so if there is a problem we would like to try and fix it before there are any hard feelings.

8) GRADING: We grade conservatively based on the Goldmine standard. We have added one half step that is noted by Parenthesis: (=). It denotes a grade that is not all the way to the next step, either up or down. A record that is VG(+) looks cleaner than VG, but is not quite a full VG+. A VG(-) is not as beat up as a VG-, but not quite clean enough to be a VG. Generally this is used if a record plays cleaner than it looks for VG(+) or Looks worse than it plays for VG(-). Grading is by sight ONLY, however we try to listen to many things and will include info if is has been spun or at least spot checked it. If an item looks particularly clean and we donít mention how it plays then it is grading by sight only. All items are guaranteed to be in the condition described, we try to grade conservatively based on the Goldmine Standard.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM PUTTING UP A LARGE NUMBER OF 99CENT LPS. SOME OF THEM ARE A LITTLE LESS THAN PERFECT CONDITION, SOME ARE RATHER RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER, OTHERS ARE JUST THINGS I WANT OUT OF MY HOUSE. SO I STARTED THE BIDDING LOW TO GET THEM MOVING. EVERYTHING IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND I WILL NOT BE TAKING RETURNS BASED ON CONDITION. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FULLY CHECKED AND GRADED WITH DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS SO PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERYTHING MEETS YOUR STANDARDS BEFORE YOU BID. EVEN ON SOME OF THE ITEMS THAT HAVE SOME CONDITION PROBLEMS, THE CONDITION IS STILL NOT TOO BAD, AND I WOULD BE FINE WITH THE CONDITION ON EVERY ITEM IF IT WERE SOMETHING I WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO KEEP AND LISTEN TO. THERE MAY BE A LITTLE BIT OF SURFACE NOISE OR SOME LIGHT CRACKLES, BUT NONE OF THE ITEMS ARE TOTALLY TRASHED. I'VE PLAYED THEM ALL AND THERE ARE NO LOCKED GROOVES, SKIPS, COMPLETELY OVERPOWERING BACON SIZZLE, ETC, BUT PLEASE CHECK THE DESCRIPTIONS FIRST.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Bama The Village Poet - Ghettos of the Mind LP on Chess Records 1972 WHITE LABEL PROMO. "A lost classic in the funky poetry mode of the 70s – and right up there with the best work from the time by the Last Poets, Jim Ingram, or Gil Scott Heron! Bama's got a rough-edged voice that works very well with the funkier backings of the set – handled by a team that includes Bernard Purdie on drums, Richard Tee on keyboards, and Cornell Dupree on guitar – and this rough vocal style also fits the themes of the tunes, which are still as political and righteous as other work in the genre, but a bit more down to earth as well. .." Given the labels origin it has a bit of a bluesier vibe with a good soul jazz backgrounds and some cool bluesy guitar solos. This was Chess records entree into ghetto jazz raps along the lines of Iceberg Slim and Lightnin' Rod as much as Gil Scott-Heron and the Last Poets. Some political stuff like the latter, some more street based stories like the former. Prices seem to get higher and higher on this one, but I'm looking to clear out space and it's priced to move.

CONDITION: The cover is VG(+). There is some yellowing and fading that seems to be common to most copies that turn up. The top corner is cut because it is a promo and has a sticker on the back. Unlike many promo copies it doesn't have any writing on the cover. It seems a lot of these went to radio stations and have some sort of call letters or other writing on the cover.

The wax is VG to VG(+). There are some large dull scuffs and some small scratches from the needle getting bumped or a thumbnail. Most of thesse are cosmetic and can not be felt with a fingernail, so they are largely cosmetic. It looks much worse than it is.

The record plays pretty clean. There is very little surface noise and it's pretty quiet between tracks. There are some very light tix or small crackles that are occasionally audible, but unobtrusive. There are sort of scattered randomly about and NOT consistently audible. Save some bucks on a mint copy because this is priced to move.

SHIPPING:

S&H is $6 for LPs in the US. This includes the cost of the mailer, shipping supplies and media mail postage, as well as the time spent cleaning the record with a Nitty Gritty Vacuum Record Cleaning Machine. I will combine S&H costs if you win multiple items. There will be a charge of $2 for LPs PER ADDITIONAL ITEM on top of the basic S&H. Buyer will be responsible for any extra fees that may result from extra postal services, payment method, extra packing requirements, insurance, etc.

LPs go via Media Mail while CDs and 7"s go via First Class Mail. Usually Media Mail will take 7-10 days, but occasionally takes longer and I have no control over how long it takes. If you want to have it sent via Priority mail, with insurance or other services the price will be higher depending on services. This price is NOT negotiable. Please do not complain that you were expecting something outside of what I've outlined above. Do NOT bid if you are unwilling to abide by these terms. FORIEGN SHIPPING: S&H fees will be more than the price above if you live outside the USA and will have to be determined based on Destination. We can't give you the exact price until the item is totally packed up and properly weighed. Based on past experience I can give you an estimate on Charges to Europe (Far East rates are slightly higher for both): An LP is usually around $12-15 via Air (or about $6-8 via Surface) To Europe. CDs/7" are about $6-8 via Air. Do not Bid if you don't agree to pay the charges above.
