Rarity: a very rare release as fully signed by the classic line up of the rock band ‘Bad Company’.
The record has been on the front panel by:
Paul Rodgers: Paul has signed ‘All the best Mark, from Paul Rodgers’
Simon Kirke: Simon has signed ‘Best wishes Mark Simon Kirke’
Boz Burrell: Boz Burrell has signed ‘Best wishes Mark Boz Burrell’
Please note Mick Ralphs has not signed the front cover. All three band members have used the same fine medium blue biro-style pen, and they look amazing on the silver foil cover! Signatures have a few minor areas of lower ink definition and are graded a strong 7/10 for overall definition.
This is a deluxe gatefold cover with a stunning picture of the group across both panels of the inner sleeve.
***The inner part of the sleeve is fully signed by the whole band including Mick Ralphs! ***
All four signatures are placed near to their image on the inner sleeve and are undedicated. (If I was framing this cover, it would be to display the inner fold out inner sleeve looks amazing!!). Signatures are in the same mid-blue biro pen, and are all much stronger on the matt finish card and are a strong 8/10 and in excellent condition!
Condition: I am not grading either the inner sleeve or vinyl, and the record has not been play-tested. This album was released on 21st February 1976 and sold in the hundreds of thousands reaching number 5 in the UK charts. Therefore, this is a common pressing and easily picked up cheaply. The absolute value is within the hugely rare fully signed album cover that will be an amazing find for any fan of Bad Company, Free, Paul Rodgers and Mott the Hoople, and therefore the grading covers all aspects of the valuable outer sleeve:
Front panel: this is a very delicate ‘foil wrapped’ outer sleeve and always subject to wear and especially rubbing. This copy has minor creasing, moderate rubbing and minor indentations
Rear panel: this is a very delicate ‘foil wrapped’ outer sleeve and always subject to wear and especially rubbing. This copy has minor creasing, moderate rubbing and minor indentations. The rear panel has moderate ring wear from storage of the record within the rear of the sleeve.
Edges and spine: moderate wear and rubbing to both top and bottom edges and spine. Spine writing has moderate wear and is 80% legible
Internal picture gatefold double panel: looks overall excellent condition with minimal ‘feathering’ around top and bottom edges.
Overall condition: cover is critically graded as very good plus (+) condition. The fully signed inner part of the gatefold would look amazing framed!!
Authenticity: this item was purchased via the world-renowned ‘Omega Auctions’ specialist music auction in November 2021. Omega complete their own due diligence to an expert standard and the signatures were secured directly by the vendor. A redacted copy of the invoice will be provided as record of the item’s authenticity.
