Description

Bad Brains - Rock for Light LP 2nd US Pressing 1983 PVC Hardcore Punk Reggae. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
2nd Pressing, same year as the 1st. This version is almost identical to the 1st Pressing except that the lower left hand corner of the back cover has "Jacket Printed in Canada" text and this version doesn't have the printed inner sleeve with lyrics/credits.

  • Run-out (Side A runout, etched): PVC-8917-A Precision HUB
  • Run-out (Side B runout, etched): PVC-8917-B Precision HUB

This record is scuffed up and has a lot of scratches. Side A. looks to be mostly Light scratches and should still play ok with maybe a bit of surface noise and pops and clicks perhaps more noticeable in the reggae songs. Side B. Is more or less the same but also has some scratches that I would describe as Medium severity or perhaps somewhere in between Light and Medium, so the surface noise and pops and clicks are will be more likely on side B. Still not likely anything bad enough to cause a skip or ruin the listening experience but it definitely appears scuffed up. G
No insert was included with this pressing.
The cover also has a bit of wear and tear. There is Light ring wear on front and back but it stands out because of the plain yellow cover so to the eye it looks closer to Moderate level ring wear perhaps. There are the usual handful of Light and short scratches near the edges as well as one long scratch or scrape type of thing. (see close up picture.) There are also some other very small spots and scratches here and there on the cover but in a way that gives it a bit of character rather than making it look like crap. The 4 corner tips have Moderate to Severe wear, depending on the corner, but that damage is pretty confined at the tips. The spine edge has Moderate wear with one inch of Severe wear at the center, (see pictures.) but all title text is intact. The shelf edge has Moderate wear becoming closer to Severe as it reaches the opening side. G+
So overall, there is some wear on this entire package, but it's still a pretty decent copy. Returns accepted if the buyer disagrees.

  • Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM.
  • I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM.
  • These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic.
  • To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
