DGG Bach Archiv Edition, Volumes 1-10

For sale are 10 of 11 volumes of the first edition pressings of DGGs monumental complete Bach edition from the 70s. Contained are:

  • Volume 1: Passions (7LP)
  • Volume 2: Masses, Motets, Songs (8LP)
  • Volume 3: Christmas Oratorio, Cantatas I (11LP)
  • Volume 4: Cantatas II (11LP)
  • Volume 5: Concertos (11LP)
  • Volume 6: Chamber Music I (7LP). (With Szeryng performing partitas and sonatas)
  • Volume 7: Chamber Music II (7LP) (With Fournier performing six cello-suites)
  • Volume 8: Organ Works I (8LP)
  • Volume 9: Organ Works II (8LP)
  • Volume 10: Works for harpsichord I (11LP)

Only "Works for harpsichord II" is missing, otherwise this is the complete edition.(I guarantee that if I come across volume 11 sometime later, I'll offer it to the winner of this auction at self-cost!)

Every box contains one bonus-LP, that's why it's 99 instead of 89 LPs. Further to this each box contains an extra booklet in which a specific historical, social or musical topic which is linked to Bach and/or his life and times is highlighted.

  • Condition Boxes: Strong EX to NM. Minimal storage wear, splendid condition.
  • Condition Vinyl: MINT. I have randomly checked more than 50% of every box and I have not found a single LP that showed any signs of usage. If I had to bet, I'd say that this is a completely untouched collection. Definitely impossible to find it in a better condition!
  • Condition Booklets: MINT
