Description
BYRON MORRIS & UNITY blow thru your mind US LP 1974 rare!
Over the next few months i will be selling on here a superb selection of rare Soul, Jazz, Funk and Latin LP's, acquired from a serious enthusiast who is trimming his collection down! Most are in fantastic collectors condition, and most are original pressings unless otherwise stated...Artist: UNITY
Title: BLOW THRU YOUR MIND
Format: stereo LP
Label: E.P.I. Records, USA (EPI-02)
Year: 1974
Style: Free Jazz, Jazz-Funk
Info: Legendary and very rare LP!
This is probably a repress or reissue as the sleeve does not have a 'paste-on' rear.
Fantastic underground spiritual/free jazz and jazz-funk... Unity was formed with similar values, aims and objectives to many other spiritually conscious groups at the time, as the name suggests. Uniquely, it managed to match the musical and spiritual searching of John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders and Ornette Coleman alongside an equally experimental New York Art-Music dimension that was brought into the group by vocalist Jay Clayton, who had performed with, amongst many others, Steve Reich. With Bassist Milton Suggs having played in Sun Ra's Arkestra, and Byron Morris having studied with Ornette Coleman and Rahsaan Roland Kirk, it is possible to see the musical path that makes up "Kitty Bey", twelve minutes of musical intensity, that sounds like nothing else ever recorded.
Comes in original card picture sleeve with New York address on rear credits, and has plain paper inner sleeve.

Vinyl in excellent+ condition and has hardly been played at all! Looks nicely clean and shiny with just some faint surface/sleeve trace marks visible when examined closely. Plays through very nicely and sounds great with just an occasional light background crackle, which is normal for a private pressing like this,
Labels are very clean and tidy with no discernible spindle marks.
Sleeve in excellent+ condition with no writing or sticker marks.
I am selling lots more similar records this week so please check my other auctions and ebay shop..!
