Description
TITLE/ARTIST: This extremely rare and highly collectible four (4) song EP is on the original, orange, Coral Label, and is entitled "The Buddy Holly Story" by the highly collectible 1950's singer/songwriter, Buddy Holly. This extremely rare EP was released back in 1959, and includes four classic songs, and a great close up photo shot of this early pioneer to R'n'R music. I also have, or will have, many other EPs for sale in current, and/or upcoming auctions, by artists like The Platters, Ricky Nelson, Gene Vincent, The 5 Satins, Duane Eddy, Bobby Darin, Fabian, and many others---but, please see the pics below with regards to this EP.
LABEL INFO: The 1st pressing, original, orange Coral Label---81182--- looks very, very nice indeed--almost like brand new. In fact, I don't see any spindle marks around the center hole, which indicates to me that it had very little play, if any at all.
VINYL INFO: The vinyl also looks very shiny, clean, and nice---almost perfect, but not quite. There are just a few very, very light surface/paper lines, but nothing serious at all, believe me. Otherwise, it is just about as nice as the day it was 1st purchased.
JACKET INFO: Finally, the EP jacket is also quite nice---espiecally for it's age and it's collectibility. To me, it also looks good, but not perfect. There are some scuff marks along the seams, a 1" seam split on the bottom edge, a fair amount of "dirt/ringwear" espiecally on the backside (I believe alot of this is cleanable though), and some other lesser signs of age and wear. However, in my opinion, this entire package is still in very, very nice overall condition---but again, please see the pictures below and judge for yourself.
INTERESTING FACTS: You just don't see this original and ultra rare 1960 Buddy Holly EP out there anymore---nor any other of these early RnR related releases---espiecally in this kind of outstanding condition.
In addition, I will have many other rare and collectible 1950-60's EP's, 45's, PS's, and LP's to list in my current and upcoming auctions. So, please continue to check out this site.
