Description

TITLE/ARTIST: Please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection will eventually come up for sale - 45's, Pic Sleeves, EP's and LP's from the '50's, '60's, and much, much more - all "oldies" and all in great condition! Here is one of those ultra rare and highly sought after LP's by the talented and popular - albeit short lived - '50's artist, Buddy Holly, who died in the Iowa cornfields along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper back in 1959. The record is on the original, 1st press, black with silver print, Decca Label from 1959 - and was his very 1st LP release.  It was entitled "That'll Be The Day" , after his huge hit single and includes this title song plus 10 other great RnR/Rockabilly songs of his - but please view all the pictures above for the song titles and much more. In addition to everything else, the package includes an original Decca Record company inner sleeve which advertises other artists and LPs of theirs from that time. LABEL INFO: This original black with silver print, Decca Label (DL 8707) is close to perfect with no serious issues at all - I don't even see too many spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had very light play. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl - in MONO - is also super shiny, clean, and nice with, again, nothing in any serious need to mention. In my opinion, it actually appears almost as good as the day it was 1st purchased back in '59, although there are some super light paper lines on either side - but they are super light!! JACKET INFO: Finally, the attractive and colorful jacket is also in very good overall shape with just a couple of very minor issues to mention here. There are very small scuff marks a couple of the corners, some early signs of light "aging" primarily on the back side, and a 2" seam split in the very top, open edged corner (see pics above). Otherwise though, it too appears to be real clean and just fine. INTERESTING FACTS: This highly collectible LP is in very nice overall condition - so please have at it and continue to check this site for more great conditioned "oldies" from my personal collection. As I have already mentioned, I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, years, sizes, and varieties. BTW, for all you Rolling Stones collectors out there, I have listed (and will continue to do so) several highly collectible 45's/PS's this week, so feel free to check them out, too. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are listed in the shipping category below--$23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I take a great deal of pride in packaging all my mailings both safely and securely. However, I cannot be responsible for records that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. But, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
