Having had rather a lengthy hiatus, I'm back to sell more of my collection/ 2nd copies/ records I think might be of interest to others. In previous years I've sold very rare PROG, 60s, PUNK etc, ranging from cheap record right up to £1000 records, and have invariably got good feedback. However, having been away from selling for so long I realise I need to build up current positive feedback again, hence I'm listing many items at buy it now prices, please check out my current, and coming here at my other items! Here's an extremely rare Demonstation copy of BUDDY HOLLY (& THE CRICKETS') 1959 UK single's B-side "Midnight Shift". Commercially released in 1959 with "Rock Around With Ollie Vee" on the A-side under the catalogue number 05800 on the UK Brunswick label. Being sold staraight after the stars tragic death, these were unreleased recordings that Buddy Holly had made for Brunswick (with whom his first single was released), as they had limited recordings they could release of him, I'mpresuming this is the only reason why an advance DEMO copy was made of the B-side of this release too, though I'm glad it was, it'sone of my favourite Buddy Holly tracks! Hence perhaps they hopedthis single would see better if they promoted both sides, sadly it didn't, and even the normal release of this record is one of his rarer ones. Being a demo it bears the very striking pink demo label that brunswick had. This has been adapted into a "large centre" hole for usewith certain players (common on the continent), and jukeboxes. The person I bought this from was a jukebox stockist, and therefore, it could have been for advance promotion in a selected jukebox...
Very strangely, (and something I've never seen before), though this is an original official DEMO copy of Buddy Holly,on the B-side there is a track from the Marino Marini Quartet on the UK Durium label, also with a Demo label! Perhaps the record execs thought that this was a good opportunity to try to push another artist on the back of their fallen star, or perhaps this DEMO disc was produced for more specialist uses, either way, this is the only original 1959 official UK demo version of Buddy Holly's MIDNIGHT SHIFT available!

LABELS: VG+, Please judge from the photos, perfectly clean (rare for these pink 1950s demo labels!), free of any graffitti/ stains/ discolouration really beautiful, but as these demo copies were only ever available in solid centre styles, the centre has been modified into a large centre hole, and "Buddy Holly Midnight Shift" has been neatly written below, also the catalogue number has been corrected from the incorrect "89281" to "89282" at 9 o'clock.
VINYL: VG+/EX-, would be a solid EX- but for a slightly more notable mark, at 10 o'clock, though plays through beautifully, with just an extremely mild tick or two (really barely audible in playback). Has been played very carefully, with surface  hairlines, it plays realy clearly and really great!
SLEEVE: VG+, Original Plain Brown stamped sleeve for this demo copy, front completely clear, back has release info part stamped, part written. Small tear to the central die-cut edge on back, lovely edges apart from that, both to top opening mouth edges, central die cut edges, and absolutely no wear-throughs to the side edges either.
