"JAZZ ORIGINAL" - - The Bud Powell Trio - -Columbia Clef 33CX 10069 - Original mono UK issue. - - This is a beautiful copy, of probably some of the finest ever recorded work in the world of excellent jazz during this era!!!! - - The flipback cover is SUPERB, with absolutely no seam splits or tears, a gleaming white back and the outstanding, now historical photograph of the great Bud Powell himself, showing only minimal signs of use for its age!!! - - The disc too is gleaming with only a couple of light surface marks, WHICH DEFINITELY DOES NOT AFFECT PLAY and with near flawless labels!! - - - This is a SUPER NICE copy of this very desirable LP. - - As for the music, well surely, it needs no introduction from me, it is definitive Bud Powell, surely the doyen of all modern jazz pianists. Apart from one breath taking solo rendition of "Like someone in love", he has assembled 2 different trios here. The first, backed by none other than the giant presence of both Percy Heath on bass and the magnificent Max Roach on drums, they give us, "Deep night", "That old black magic" and "Round midnight", the second, has Bud with Lloyd Trotmans bass and the exciting Art Blakey on drums, who honour us with their versions of "Thou Swell", "Someone to watch over me", "Lover come back to me", "Tenderly" and "How the moon". - - This is PERFECTION in piano jazz, there is to my mind none better. - - This is a great opportunity to acquire this excellent copy of modern jazz history of this great piano master! - - DON'T MISS THIS ONE, IT IS GETTING VERY HARD TO FIND!!!!!! - -
