Hang It Out To Dry b/w Letter To An Angel-Bud and Kathy (Downey D-136) Released in 1966 Disc Jockey/Promotional Copy

Possibly the holy grail of 'garage' rock, this rather aggressive but appealing track sports a frantic harmonica with a killer beat (with organ), somewhat similar in tempo to 'Pushin' Too Hard' by The Seeds, but lyrically darker. Very few copies of this track in excellent condition ever turn up, especially a 'promo' copy!
Not much is known about Bud & Kathy. This one-off single, released by Downey Records, who had a couple of hits in the company's brief 4 year run began releasing pop and surf rock. The company folded after a few 'garage' singles, including this track shamefully did not make much noise until discovered years later as essential listening.
