Truly one of the best live albums of all time, there's more palpable sense of emotion on these stripped back takes by Jeff Buckley armed only with an electric guitar than nearly any other record out there. 'Lover, You Should've Come Over' is devastating in the best possible way, capturing what it feels like to have your heart torn apart. 'Mojo Pin', a song about a dream, has some guitar playing that Jimmy Page would be proud of and the arrangement ebbs and flows in unexpected ways that keep you hooked in - Buckley delivers his lyrics with such anger and such tenderness from one moment to the next. In contrast to the more lush sounding studio albums, this live album was recorded in a cramped cafe turned club in East Village, Manhattan and there's something more exposing to this expertly-recorded album, originally released in 1993, that makes it all the more compelling.
