Description
This is one of a number of vinyl albums and EPs -- some new and still-sealed, some rare -- that I am listing for auction.
This auction is for the two studio albums released on the same date together by local hero Bruce Springsteen, the albums entitled Human Touch and Lucky Town, both on Columbia Records from 1992. Springsteen was born and raised in a town near the shore in New Jersey, Freehold, and played in a number of local bands while in high school and during a very brief college stint. Bruce then went on to begin playing local clubs in and around Asbury Park, New Jersey, and eventually garnered an audition for Columbia Records in New York City in the early 1970s. Springsteen signed on with Columbia Records, and released his first album in 1973. These two albums are his first two without the E Street Band (except for Nebraska, essentially an album of demos), and feature guest appearances by Soozie Tyrell, Gary Mallabar (Steve Miller Band), Randy Jackson (American Idol judge), Jeff Porcaro (Toto), Roy Bittan, Shayne Fontayne (Lone Justice), Clarence Clemons and his wife, Patti Scialfa. I do not know exactly why Bruce chose to release the albums in this fashion. To my listening, neither album seems to be based upon a particular theme or concept, nor do the songs themselves – lyrically and/or musically – call for some distinct separation. But each of the albums, and a number of the tracks individually, are really great. These are two of my favorite Bruce albums (along with Born To Run, Darkness and Nebraska), and the ones I probably listen to more often than any of his others. These albums, having been pressed in 1992, are somewhat rare since, by that time, very few albums were being pressed due to the ascendancy of the compact disc. So, this is a great compilation for Bruce collectors.
Both albums are in new, still-sealed and mint condition, as shown in the photo.
NOTE: Sealed items are collectible because they are sealed. Since I do not own a store, I cannot return items to the manufacturer. Once opened, I cannot refund the purchase price in full because opening significantly affects its value.
I do not use stock photos. The photo shows the actual item up for auction.
I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...).
The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one LP via media mail to anywhere in the U.S. Each additional LP is an additional $0.40 for media mail shipping. Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will e-mail an invoice indicating the cost of priority (I can also provide this info while the auction is pending, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of LPs).
Insurance through the USPS is available, and once again my invoice will provide the cost information.
NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS without delivery confirmation. If you would like tracking ability, you must purchase delivery confirmation for $0.75.
International Buyers – Please Note:
· Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
· Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
· These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
· We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
NOTE: Due to the present rules under Paypal, I can now ship internationally ONLY VIA PRIORITY MAIL. If you are outside the US, Priority International is the standard shipping, due to the fact that under Paypal rules, tracking must be included on EVERY package outside the US. The cost depends upon the weight and the country of destination. I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide the info during the auction, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records). To Canada, it will be $20.50USD for one LP. To most other countries, it will be about $28.00USD for one LP. I recognize that this will result in much higher shipping costs and I apologize for this change, but it is necessary under the Paypal rules now in effect. If you have any questions about this policy, please send me an e-mail via My eBay.
I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable. Payment may be made by paypal. If I do not receive payment for an item within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction and I do not hear from you in response to e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.
Should you have any questions at all about postage or about any item in particular, please do not hesitate to contact me through My Messages in eBay.
