Grading of vinyl: 

SS           Still Sealed                  -  Never opened, never played since it has been factory-sealed. Flawless, with no damage whatsoever.

NM          Near Mint                   -  Has been opened and checked for defects, but is still flawless with no damage whatsoever. 

EX+        Excellent Plus              -  Record has almost never been played. Plays like Near Mint vinyl, but you can tell it has been played. 

EX           Excellent                     -  Record has been played a few times, but will still play almost perfectly throughout.

You can tell it has been played by the surface of it. What you will see is minor scuff marks and some very minimal signs of wear. Which was probably made by touching the vinyl, brushing over it, friction with the sleeve or maybe in some cases by wiping it with a cloth after it had collected some dust.

These things will hardly be heard when listening to the tracks, only "barely detectable" crackles or pops, if any. A slight noise at the beginning is allowable, but the remainder will be nearly flawless.

EX-         Excellent Min(-us)          -  Playes like Excellent, but looks a little more worn: This record has been played more than a few times, but will still play almost perfectly throughout.

What you will see is some scuff marks and some signs of wear.

Which was probably made by touching the vinyl, friction with the sleeve, and in some cases by having it cleaned it with vinyl-cleaner.

Still only "barely detectable" crackles or pops, if any. A slight noise at the beginning is allowable, but the remainder will be nearly flawless.

VG+++    Very Good Plus Plus Plus  -  This is a used record which has  been played many times and shows visual signs of it.

It is in better condition than VG+, but just not as good as EX-

VG+         Very Good Plus                -  This is a used record which has been played many times and shows visual signs of it.

What you will see is some scuff marks and average signs of wear.

Which was probably made less than careful handling of the record. But  all marks or damage is only on the surface and you won’t be able to feel them with a dry fingertip, so no deep scratches you will hear repeatedly.

May crackle, pop or make other  soft annoying noises, but only occasionally, never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.

So this damage is still hardly noticeable when you listening to the tracks. ( I have checked this personally )

To keep the noises at a minimum the record has been cleaned with vinyl-cleaner.
