13 LP Radio Show - On The Air Broadcasting
Offering one very unusual find: a 13 disc vinyl radio show from 1989, exploring the British Invasion. This set is unusual in that it comes in near-pristine condition in it's original mailing box, complete with crisp cue sheets. Our research shows that this set is rarely offered for sale-we can find no other copies for sale at present-and has commanded a good price when has been offered.This radio show is a strictly promo-only item, offered to radio stations for broadcast. This show is co-hosted by producer/director/actor/voice artist, Brian Kelly, along with Graham Nash of CSNY & The Hollies. Show comes complete with vintage Dr. Pepper commercials, which sponsored the production.
This is a 12-hour show contained in 12 discs. Each hour has it's own 'cue sheet', which is a guide to the DJ as to song order, placement of commercials, segment introductions and endings. Approximately 150 original British Invasion songs are included by artists like The Beatles (50 songs, plus some solo), Dave Clark Five, Dusty Springfield, Swinging Blue Jeans, Rolling Stones (14 songs), Animals, Zombies, Kinks, Yardbirds, Hollies, Who, Spencer Davis, Donovan, Van Morrison, Traffic, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Deep Purple, Badfinger, Led Zeppelin-to name just a few! We have included scans of all the cue sheets so that you can see exactly what the show contains. The 13th of this set is called "Generic Promos". This disc has short bands of commentary by 59 musicians & celebrities about this program. (See 'Generic Promos' cue sheet for a list.) The station DJ is invited to use some of these to enhance the show during the break.
Set is still housed in it's original mailing box, which we will use for secure mailing to you. Cue Sheets are all Near Mint. Our guess is that this show was aired once and set aside. All 13 discs are Near Mint except for side 3A which has a messy-looking spindle mark at the beginning. However, this does not affect play. All in all, this scarce radio show LP set is in TOP condition.
