Description

This is a nice copy of a hard to find single by Jay & the Americans: "Things Are Changing." Released as part of an EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) campaign in 1965 (T4LM-1140). Jay and the Americans was one of three groups that released this single, the others being The Blossoms and The Supremes. The backing track, produced by Phil Spector, is based on a song written by Brian Wilson, "Don't Hurt My Little Sister" which was recorded by the Beach Boys for the "Beach Boys Today!" LP. Story goes that Brian wrote the song for the Ronettes, and brought it to Spector. Brian played piano on the session, though whether or not he ended up on the master is unclear. Spector shelved the track, but used it for this EEO campaign.

The record looks to be in VG condition. There is sticker residue on both labels, but no tears or writing. Vinyl looks very good. Some marks and scuffs, but both sides plays through noise. Record only. Original picture sleeve not included.
