Description
On White Whale Records, this is very nice promo copy of The Laughing Gravy doing "Vegetables" b/w "Vegetables" (WW 261). Released in late 1967 and listed as 'Song from album 'Smiley Smile'"--perhaps in an effort to promote the Beach Boys latest LP, which was stalling on the charts. Produced by Dean Torrence, with help from Brian Wilson, this is a nice version of the Brian Wilson - Van Dyke Parks collaboration from the SMiLE-era. I believe this version of "Vegetables" differs slightly from the version featured on the "Jenny Lee" single, released in 1972 (UA 50859, as "Jan & Dean"). The latter version features new vocals by Brian Wilson and Spring, whereas the Laughing Gravy version does not. An exciting record to have in any condition, and this one is beautiful. NM condition. Both labels are clean--no writing, stickers, or tears. Comes in original factory sleeve.
