Up for auction is this classic vinyl LP album from 1973.

Eno's solo debut, Here Come the Warm Jets, is a spirited, experimental collection of unabashed pop songs on which Eno mostly reprises his Roxy Music role as "sound manipulator," taking the lead vocals but leaving much of the instrumental work to various studio cohorts (including ex-Roxy mates Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay, plus Robert Fripp and others). Eno's compositions are quirky, whimsical, and catchy, his lyrics bizarre and often free-associative, with a decidedly dark bent in their humor. Yet the album wouldn't sound nearly as manic as it does without Eno's wildly unpredictable sound processing; he coaxes otherworldly noises and textures from the treated guitars and keyboards, layering them in complex arrangements or bouncing them off one another in a weird cacophony. Avant-garde, yet very accessible, Here Come the Warm Jets still sounds exciting, forward-looking, and densely detailed, revealing more intricacies with every play.

In an effort to keep the shipping costs low and encourage bidding, each successive disk combined in a single shipment will only cost 50 cents extra per disk, up to 12 in a single shipment, as the boxes I use will house up to 12 disks.

Since I am planning on moving cross-country, I need to reduce the clutter I am taking along, so it is time to part with these cherished items from my youth, and pass them onto someone else who I hope will appreciate them as much as I did. Bid with confidence, as I will fully stand behind the quality of these discs.

I was fanatical about taking EXCELLENT care of my albums, playing them only on high-quality turntables with a low-weight stylus, and routinely cleaning them with Discwasher and Zerostat anti-static devices. I was an audiophile, not a collector, so my emphasis was on taking care of the playing surfaces, not necessarily the covers. They have been stored upright in a sealed box, unplayed, since 1987, when I switched to CDs. I never stacked my albums for multiple play, and never handled them by the grooves with my fingers. They were either on the turntable, or stored away in the sleeve and cover. All have been visually inspected under strong light, and played if there is a suspected problem. All indications are that they remain in excellent condition, and although they have been in storage for 23 years, I am confident that the albums are entirely playable and will still sound as good today as the day I packed them away. The albums are housed in their original album covers and sleeves (where feasible – if the sleeves have significant wear or damage, I will supply the original sleeve if it is not generic, and house the album in a brand new plastic sleeve), and I am the original owner, except where specifically noted in the grading section above. I ship all LPs in new, specially designed LP boxes.

Grading Scale:

MINT --- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writings, tears or splits. Mint means perfect. I will not grade ANY used album as Mint. Mint-minus is the absolute best possible grade for a used album by my standards.

NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.

VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully.  On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve, or some of the original luster may be lost on the vinyl.  A slight scratch, which does not affect play, would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors. 

VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise may be present, but it should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.

GOOD ---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.
