Description

BRIAN AUGER/JULIE DRISCOLL - "OPEN" UK MARMALADE 607002 Mono A1-B1, with Photo Insert - Autographed on rear cover by Brian Auger

FIRST PRESSING A1/B1 MATRIX

and now for the bad news...
after all the years I've owned this record, and played it quite a lot and yet maintained it in pretty decent condition, for it's age...
when I took it out of the cover to photograph it for this listing, I DROPPED IT...
and, as I tried to catch it, it brushed against a wicker chair next to the table.
and suddenly it had a visible and tangible scratch on one side... basically across most of tracks 3-4 on side one..
I took it down the road to a friend who still has a turntable and played it...
On Auger's dynamic "Black Cat" - to some extent the clapping and overall rhythm track fortunately "disguise" the clicks of the scratch - and it doesn't skip at all...
but track four is much quieter and the beginning of it is quite marred by the clicking of the scratch... although it also doesn't skip...
and then it simply fades away, towards the end of track 4.
Otherwise the record plays well.. only the normal clicks and pops of age that are generally cleaned away with diligent care.

VINYL CONDITION: G/VG - Visible inspection shows only surface marks and one scratch..
SLEEVE CONDITION: VG/EX -  Just the kind of scuffs you expect from a record of this age.
Dust sleeve/lyric sheet: original generic sleeve with photo insert..

sorry about the reflection in the photos.

Why such a low start price?

because I want these records out of my dining room....

it's that straightforward and no reflection on the condition of the item.

Grading System - Please read carefully.

The Records/Books that I sell are generally quite old and they are USED.... If you expect a fourty year old record or book to look like it just came out of the shop - these are probably not for you.
The adjectives that I use to describe them are NOT based on Record Collector - or any other "source" - they are simple English terms.
If you have any doubts or questions and would like further clarification - please ask BEFORE YOU BID.
I no longer own a turntable so I have not played any of these records.

But I have removed each one from it's cover, wiped it gently with a DRY micro-static cloth and then looked carefully at it with my reading glasses on... if there was any VISIBLE marks that looked as if they would resist a PROPER cleaning with proper cleaning solution, then I simply discarded the disk.

I do not attempt to re-glue old seams that have simply come apart with age or remove sticky labels or their residue
as, frankly, I'll probably mess it up. Such things are easy for the buyer to repair in their own way.

If you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask.

My scans and/or photos are real.
