These records are all from the personal collection of a man in his 60's named Desmond Lee. I made a video about him and his collection that can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc8MBF1sU1I Desmond lived on the West Coast and was a huge Motown fan (especially Diana Ross and the Supremes). Growing up, he was actively buying nearly every single Motown and Motown related release. Considering his location, most were pressed at the Hollywood pressing plant. He had over 60 boxes total that spanned from the 1960's - 1980's. They were all kept in order by catalog number and stored in a locker untouched for over 20 years. It is quite an impressive collection to say the least. Most of the records (covers) were kept in their original shrink wrap and then put in another sleeve to further protect them. Most of the records themselves look UNPLAYED! They show no spindle marks around the hole, they have all of their original shine, original Motown inserts, etc.. No scuffs or scratches on nearly 99% of the collection. Truly AMAZING condition for original Motown.
The one personalty quirk of Mr. Desmond Lee is that he insisted on writing his name (and sometimes date) on just about every single record label (yes, both sides) as well as the back side of the outer jacket. If not for the writing, I would grade nearly every single record in the collection as NM.
It's simply that AMAZING!
