Description
This is a rare 33-1/3 rpm vinyl record called Breakfast at Tiffany's, a live recording made before the musical closed during previews in 1966. It was considered one of Broadway's biggest musical flops because it looked to be a sure hit. It was based on Truman Capote's story that had recently been turned into a very successful film. The production team had all been behind huge Broadway hits: David Merrick (producer), Abe Burrows (book/director), Bob Merrill (music/lyrics), and Michael Kidd (choreography). The musical starred Mary Tyler Moore, Richard Chamberlain, Sally Kellerman, Art Lund, Larry Kert, and Priscilla Lopez. And it had $2 million in advanced ticket sales, which were subsequently refunded.
